What I want to learn from my web class at DMACC

I have a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Northern Iowa, while I was there I mainly studied print design. I have been out in the field for 5 years now. I feel like everything is moving more and more to web so I decided it was time for me to learn more about it. This is my second web design class but the first one I took was more design oriented. By the end of that class I had built my own portfolio website but unfortunately I didn't understand the inner workings of how it was created. Now with my second class I am hoping to understand code. I would like to be able to build and maintain my own websites. I hope to have a better understanding of HTML and CSS and be able to use Dreamweaver and Fireworks.

I am inspired every day by websites that I go to. I love apple's website www.apple.com, it is very fun and colorful and easy to find what I am looking for. I love to shop online and I am always impressed with clothing websites, one that I particularly like is www.express.com. I love watching NFL football with my husband and we are huge Minnesota Viking's Fans. Their website is www.vikings.com. I love that they have everything right at your fingertips. I am able to watch press releases from the coach and players, they have a blog that you can follow and and news articles about the team.
